Can I make up my mind???

Hey all... well, I have been thinking long and hard these past few days. I feel like my head is spinning out of control. What to do, what to do? Do I leave or do I stay? So many questions, very little options and hardly any time.

So as you can see...I have totally changed my blog layout, look and overall idea of what I am going to use this blog for. For a long long time now, I have always had a love and passion for crafting. With all this time on my hands, I have been glued to YouTube. Constantly watching scrapbookers and card makers. I just purchased a Cricut Expression (thanks to Craigslist), and I have very little knowledge on how to use it. Thank goodness for tutorials!

I think the smart thing to do is move back to Corpus Christi. Although I hate the idea of leaving Houston, like my mom said,  "Houston will always be there". One, my boyfriend is there. It is hard on the both of us having a long distance relationship. Two, I can start the journey to my love of crafts, design and party decor. And three, once all is good and things are in place, we will definitely come back to Houston.

Any advice you can give, please let me know!

Oh, did you see my new header? How cute is that? No pun intended, lol! I think this will be my new logo/name. What do ya think?

Talk to you soon...

Fabulous Friday to all!

Happy Friday everyone! It's a gorgeous day in the neighborhood and I am ready to head to Corpus Christi to see my family. But before I start packing, I need to finish up some chores around the house. This morning I applied for about 7 jobs. I'm crossing my fingers that I hear from at least one! I have created a template for my new business cards and I will be placing my order on Monday for those. I used www.vistaprint.com. They have a special for 500 premium business cards for $10 and that includes shipping. Great deal! My plans for next week are to do alot of research on small business in my area so that I can get a list to mail out letters (brochures) with the services I provide. I hope to have some response from those. My next step is to save enough money to hire an SEO company/person. This will help get my website at the top of the list for Google when someone does a search using keywords (i.e. virtual assistant, work from home, etc.). I will keep you updated on my next steps for helping my Virtual Assistant business take off.

Talk to you soon...

Keeping the faith is necessary to succeed

Happy Thursday! One day closer to the weekend! My plans for the day are to apply, apply, apply (everyday ritual), laundry and to do some more research online for my business at home.
Visit my website to see what I do.
Virtual Administrative Solutions http://myvasolutions.weebly.com/

Virtual Assistance is one of the fasted growing home-based businesses around. Here is an article from Entrepreneur.com http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/71516

Unfortunately, I can not only depend on this start-up business I am trying. It takes alot of time to come up with your business plan, market yourself and gain the clientele needed to maintain a full-time salary. There are alot of resources out there that will help you gain all the knowledge on starting this at home business. In my case, I don't have the means to purchase these kits. They range from $500-$2,500. So, if another opportunity comes up (working for someone else), I have no choice but to accept, but I will keep my home business going on a part-time basis. I just hope that it can grow to a state where I can work from home full-time. This is my ultimate goal and I have constant faith that I will reach that.

See you tomorrow...

My first blog! :)

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic Wednesday so far. I live in Houston, TX and the weather is amazing right now..about 78 degrees. Such clear blue skies! (view from my balcony) Poor lake. We need more rain!

I'm sure if you live in Texas, you were just as happy as I to get into the fall weather. What a scorching summer right?! So, as my title says it, this is my FIRST BLOG and I am very excited! I have always followed different bloggers. I love to see the day to day lives of people like me. Single moms trying to make it work for their families. All the trials and tribulations we go through and how we can't let anything get us down. One of my inspirations is a blogger by the name of Kandee Johnson...ever heard of her? She is a Youtube sensation, makeup artist, fun loving mother and friend (not personally), but if you are a Kandee fan, you feel like she is a close friend. So kind hearted, sweet, funny and all around loveable person. So, I was recently let go from my job. I am struggling to find a job in this huge city...what's the problem? I mean, I live in Houston....a city that is booming with opportunity. I don't know what it could be. So, in the mean time while I am actively looking (literally! I apply daily to about 5-10 postings with very little response), I have really enjoyed spending time at home. Cooking, cleaning, internet browsing and doing alot of research to start my own business. I will take you along my journey on becoming a successful "work at home mom". I know I can do this. I honestly think that this is my calling (maybe that's why I haven't had any other responses). It's my sign to do my own thang, right? I hope so!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and talk to you soon...
